A Red Deer man is arguing that he should be able to wear his own hat in his drivers license photo. Claiming that Hockey is his religion, Ken Egilsson is refusing to take his hate off after paying to renew his license, and is now willing to take it as far as going to the supreme court.
As ridiculous as all of this sounds, he is trying to make a point. He was on 630 Ched with Ryan Jesperson earlier this morning, “It is a protest in one sense, but it’s a protest for every man, woman, and child that loves to wear their hat. In our society, hats are allowable head dressings. We’re allowed to wear them at a hockey game, we’re allowed to wear them at a movie theatre, we’re allowed to wear them here, we’re allowed to wear them there.” He also went on to say, “If my hat is either not offensive to anybody, or promoting hate, or obstructing my face, I should be able to wear it wherever I want.”
I think the only people offended by his hat would be Calgary Flames fans.
