Who will pay the final bill? The tab for Rene Angelil’s recent funeral has topped $700,000. Because Quebec suggested hosting a national funeral, his management company submitted the bill to the province’s government. The problem is, the funeral ended up costing about ten times other past national funerals, such as Jean Beliveau ($59, 863.44) and Claude Ryan ($71,455.63). The government has offered to reimburse just under $50,000.
