Calvin Harris’ latest Twitter rant has shed a little insight into why he and Taylor swift have parted ways after a 15 month romance that seemed like a fairy tale.
Some of the rumors floating around about the break up included:
1. Calvin Harris dumped Taylor Swift seemingly out of the blue. The two went their separate ways amicably, and even sent each other some supportive tweets immediately following the break up. They remained good friends. (Guess not!)
2. Taylor Swift met Tom Hiddleston at the Met Gala…the two got pretty cozy despite the fact that Swift was in a relationship with Harris. People speculated that she had cheated and that was the cause of the split.
Now…there is a new scenario, folks!
Calvin Harris has a new song climbing up the charts. It is a collaboration with Rihanna and it is called “This Is What You Came For.” You probably have heard the catchy smash hit over the 92.5 Fresh Radio airwaves.
But did you know that Taylor swift wrote that song!??!! The singers rep recently confirmed to People Magazine that she wrote the song under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg.
TMZ reported that Swift wrote the song, recorded a demo on her cell and then sent it to Harris.
The two proceeded to record a full demo, which they collectively decided to keep a secret.
Harris then publicly declared that he couldn’t fathom working with his then girlfriend in the future.
“You know, we haven’t even spoken about it. I can’t see it happening though,” Harris told Ryan Seacrest while promoting the song.
OUCH. That’s got to sting.
Then somewhere along the way Swift decided to come clean about the pseudonym and demand her song writing credit. This then inspired Harris to “clear things up” on twitter.
But he clarified that the credit wasn’t Swift’s alone:
