The company that is still making VCR’s will stop manufacturing them at the end of this month!
Japan’s Funai Electronics will produce the last batch of VCR units by July 30. According to the website Quartz, The reason VCR’s are going the way of the Dodo Bird is because the companyis having difficulty in obtaining the necessary parts.
During the 80’s and 90’s in it’s peak, Funai sold 15 million units of the home video system.
