In 1996, six year old JonBenet Ramsay was thought to be kidnapped. The tiny beauty queen was later found dead in the basement of her family’s home in Boulder, Colorado. Suspicion was immediately cast on the family, which her mother and father have denied. Her brother Burke never spoke out about the tragic event.
Now 20 years later, CBS has gathered up their own team of investigators (including a criminal behavioural analyst, a forensic scientist, a former FBI profiler and a pathologist) who all claim that JonBenet’s brother Burke accidentally killed her. The network compiled all of these findings into a two part mini series which aired earlier this week on Sunday & Monday.
The Ramsay’s lawyer, L. Lin Wood, has told People Magazine that they plan to sue. CBS says they plan to stand by their claims in the court of law. More here.
Earlier this month, Burke Ramsay appeared on Dr. Phil in a three part series to finally speak out about the event, and was later criticized for “acting weird” during the interview. AKA..smiling too much..acting nervous and awkward. Dr. Phil has since defended his behavior, saying grief takes many different forms and that he was also nervous to be on national television.
Here’s a clip from his appearance:
