Scientists working on treatments for Parkinson’s have created a video that can induce hallucinations in healthy people. Normally healthy subjects usually will only hallucinate after taking drugs, being sleep deprived or suffering from migraines.
Hallucinations are difficult to measure scientifically, but being able to induce them will hopefully result in eventual treatment for Parkinson’s patients.
This video has a flashing light against a black backdrop. The ‘hallucination’ you should see are grey blobs (that aren’t actually there) appear to rotate around a ring, then change direction.
WARNING: THIS VIDEO CONTAINS FLASHING LIGHTS. DO NOT WATCH IF YOU HAVE A HISTORY OF MIGRAINES, EPILEPSY OR PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS.
