Royal guests will be in attendance this summer when Canada celebrates its 150th birthday; Charles, Prince of Wales and wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have accepted an invitation from Governor General David Johnston to visit Ontario, Nunavut and Ottawa in particular from June 29 to July 1st. They are visiting on behalf of Queen Elizabeth 2, who will be turning 91 this year.
This will be Charles’ 18th visit to Canada, and the couple’s fourth visit together; they were last in Canada in May of 2014, stopping in Nova Scotia, PEI and Manitoba.
On the off-chance that you get a close-up view, remember your royal protocol – tips here! (hint: no selfies)
Curious whether this is a visit from our future Queen? Royalty experts are split on what Camilla’s title may eventually be (Queen? Queen’s Consort? Princess Consort?) More on that here.
