Former star of the the 1966 Batman TV series, Adam West, passed away peacefully last night in his Los Angeles home.
Variety reports that the iconic star had been undergoing treatment for leukemia at the time of his death.
The 88 year old is survived by his wife Marcelle along with his six children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His family released a statement which read, “Our dad always saw himself as The Bright Knight, and aspired to make a positive impact on his fans’ lives. He was and always will be our hero.”
Besides his role in Batman, West has done voice over work for Family Guy, as well as Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders and has also made a cameo as himself in The Big Bang Theory and 30 Rock.
