If you don’t check until the actual day of the big event, you’re just asking for trouble, but come ON; Malexa Maeweather was in tears when she saw the custom made one-of-a-kind dress that she had paid a local designer to create for her prom. The dressmaker promised to “make her something nice” with material she already owned, and that she wanted to “play around with the design.”
Rochester, N.Y. seamstress Kia Wagner refused to return the $100 deposit after Maeweather was horrified at the results:
What IS this, even?
Are those pins, still holding the pieces together?
Who would even consider going to grad, in THIS?
We wouldn’t, either. Ugh.
Maeweather’s mother, Dee Lewis, posted about this atrocity and the designer’s refusal to return the deposit, and luckily was bailed out at with two hours to spare on the day of the prom by a friend’s daughter’s prom dress from the year before.
