The weekend started off with the Eskimos hosting the Grey Cup champion Ottawa Redblacks. The sun was shinning, they had an $82K carry over on the 50/50 and the Esks won 23-21! A perfect start to the weekend!
The game was exciting, but the 50/50 had fans in a frenzy! Never in my life have I seen lines that long for a 50/50 at a sporting event. Our friends invited us to the Chuckwagons at the Calgary Stampede (his cousin was racing), so we packed the car and headed to YYC on Saturday. What a cool experience. We got to go back to the barns and chat with other racers and pet the horses. I also got to get up close to the Chuckwagons, and I couldn’t believe how small and basic they were. Wooden wheels and plywood, those drivers are brave! I also got to load a barrel and again was surprised how small and light they were. Everything looks bigger on TV! By the way our team finished 3rd place!! READ MORE: Improving chuckwagon safety the focus of new University of Calgary research
