Chinese residents will have to shell out for a plane ticket if they want to see Justin Bieber perform.
Bieber has been banned from the country due to his multiple run ins with the law. A statement released by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture reveals the decision to ban Bieber has been made in an effort to “purify” the Chinese entertainment industry.
News of the ban came to light after a fan inquired as to why Bieber was not permitted to entry the country during his Purpose world tour.
“We sympathize with your feelings. Justin Bieber is a talented singer but is also a controversial young foreign idol,” the bureau replied. “We understand that there are records of his bad behavior, whether it is in his private life abroad or on stage.”
There is hope for Bieber, though. The 23 year old pop star is currently in the process of cleaning up his act. If he is successful, China may be willing to reconsider the ban. Fingers crossed!
