Friday morning was the annual K Days parade, and although the weather wasn’t ideal there was still thousand of people who lined up along Jasper Ave to take it in! My umbrella was destroyed from the wind so we ended up getting a little wet, but it was totally worth it! The new route this year kept us on Jasper Ave and as usual the crews kept everything seamless!
All summer long I’ve been on a taco tear. It feels like every week I’ve been going back to Tres Carnales to fill my craving, so this week I was inspired by some recipes online and actually cooked my own. Coconut shrimp Tacos, complete with refried beans and Mexican rice…. YUM! Needless to say I ate way to many and went to bed with a full belly!
On Saturday we went to Taste Of Edmonton to check out Bif Naked. Bif always puts on an awesome show, and she shared some fun stories about playing Edmonton back in the late 80’s/e early 90’s between songs. Full disclosure: I’ve been in love with Bif since I was 14 so during the concert I broke the news to my girlfriend that I planned to marry her some day. She laughed at me!
P.S. Bif’s been married 3 times and calls herself “Always a bride and never a bridesmaid”.
On Sunday morning I jumped on my motorcycle and rode to Alberta Beach. If you haven’t been there in a while it’s worth the drive. Alberta Beach is such a cool little beach town with so many funky lakefront homes and little shops. It felt like everyone that lived there was having a garage sale.
As usual I left Alberta Beach inspired to buy a lakefront cabin one day , and made a note to self to buy a lottery ticket on the way home!
After my ride it started to storm so we decided to cap off the weekend with a movie. Dunkirk was an impressive spectacle that told the story through land sea and air. Definitely worth your $20 to see it. Also Harry Styles (One Direction) was amazing in his acting debut.
