Big victory for Taylor Swift today as U.S. District Judge William Martinez dismissed the case brought against her by a former radio announcer.
Backstory: Taylor Swift was posing for a picture with David Mueller (who is a former radio announcer) before she was set to perform in Denver (in 2013)
Swift states that Mueller was drunk and groped her during the photo shoot. She testified in court yesterday that he reached up under her skirt and fondled her a**.
Mueller was then interrogated by security and subsequently fired from his job at the radio station.
Since then, he proceeded to sue the pop star to the tune of 3 million dollars for getting him fired. He denied ever groping her and wants compensation for “ruining his career.”
Swift is suing him right back for $1. Why? Because it’s not about money for her, and she wants to set an example for all women to stand up for themselves.
Court proceedings have been taking place over the past couple days. During that time Swift has produced witnesses who corroborated her testimony. She recounted the event for the judge and the jury.
Swift emotionally wiped away tears as the judge dismissed Mueller’s case against her. The jury is expected to rule on Swift’s countersuit on Monday after closing statements are given by both sides.
