For months now Dave Grohl, the former Nirvana drummer and lead singer of Foo Fighters has teased a mysterious caloberation telling BBC Radio 1 that the world’s “biggest pop star” sang backup on their new album.”
Well it was finally revealed revealed that Justin Timberlake is the long-hyped mystery “pop star” collaborator featured on the Foo Fighters’ upcoming ninth LP, Concrete and Gold.
The unlikely pairing came about after the 2 would hang out at L.A.’s EastWest studios. Grohl told Rollingstone “We’d drink whiskey in the parking lot,” said the Foo Fighters frontman. “He was really, really cool. Then the night before his last day, he says, ‘Can I sing on your record? I don’t want to push it, but – I just want to be able to tell my friends.'”

The new Foo album is out September 15 so we won’t get to hear JT’s performance until then. Timberlake’s contribution amounted to “la la la” vocals on one track, but Grohl joked “He nailed it. I’m telling you . . . the guy’s going somewhere.”
