The newest team in the NHL has it’s first-ever home opener tonight as the Vegas Knights take on the Arizona Coyotes; what would normally be an over-the-top exciting night (this IS Vegas, after all) will likely open on a sombre note, with some form of ceremony to remember the 58 victims of the shooting last Sunday.
There will also be a tribute visible throughout the game to those both at the rink and anyone watching from elsewhere; the team has removed ALL advertising and will instead display #VegasStrong along all the boards.
It’s not known what the loss in revenue will total but many are applauding the team’s classy move.

The team has been scoring points with the home crowd even before the puck drops on home ice for the first time:
When we take the ice at @TMobileArena tomorrow, we won't be alone. We'll be joined by our fans.
