Recognize that ↑ redhead? That’s a very young Ed Sheeran at the piano!
Here’s why he and other celebrities are sharing their most precious music memories;
An estimated eight million children around the world live in orphanages. 80% of them have a living parent, but have been abandoned because of poverty, disabilities or discrimination.
End the Silence says:
“When a baby in an orphanage cries, nobody comes to comfort them. They learn not to cry. They grow up in silence, without laughter, without hope, without music.”
Ed Sheeran, Hozier, Elton John and other British artists have shared memories of their favourite childhood songs, to encourage donations to the Hope and Homes Charity, which the U.K. government will match until December 27th.
Watch Ed Sheeran discuss his childhood, the Van Morrison song that he remembers best from his childhood, and home video of him playing guitar, piano, the bodhran and other musical instruments:
Elton John’s musical memory involves a trip to the dentist!
