December 25th has come and gone, but Queen Elizabeth’s tree still stands tall and proud.
It is said that Her Majesty keeps her decorations up until February 6th every year!

I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to ditch my holiday garb as soon as I possibly can (I’m talking Dec 26th at the crack of dawn…)
So why does the Queen keep her decorations up 6 weeks post Christmas??
According to Hello! it is the anniversary of her father’s death. King George VI passed away on 6 February 1952 at Sandringham House, and she stays there to mark the occasion in private, before her return to Buckingham Palace.
For the superstitious, it is customary to remove all Christmas decorations by Jan 6th, as any longer is considered bad luck. However; it does not appear that Her Highness is concerned at all with that.
